tigmeister my understanding is that Australia has about a $400B spend budget, nothing in the bank and any spending beyond this budget needs to be borrowed.
It's not a great position to be in. That being said there would probably be wise and sound investments worth borrowing for. We could sell assets to fund a purchase i suppose.
