I agree. It's probably best in the long run. Doesn't look like they're getting a lot of interest though.
The only reason Silver Slam was a success was b/c Razer promoted it, and they are well liked/known in Asia. Util they get more numbers, they should probably concentrate on region-wide tournaments only.
They should've announced it sooner. The tournament was a good idea but the timing was off.
Also, they should only open up the initial qualifiers first, not have every tournament, including the finals open. It just looks like no one is interested. Bad marketing and plus, i don't like scrolling.
The website needs to more filters e.g. weekly, monthly, daily tournaments and special tournaments etc.
