This year has seen a return to closer to normal crop levels as well as record prices for wholesale (and retail) avocados. Paring back some of the more mature trees over the last few years has really paid off. We have picked and packed over 1000 trays of various sizes since Easter and have been getting up to $65 per 5.5kg tray.
We are still picking fruit to meet demand and expect to continue the harvest until mid/late July. Early indications are that there are even more buds beginning to form on the trees, which points to another great crop early next year.
We have had a lot of interest in the last few months, especially since our harvest began at Easter. We have hosted many inspections over the last few months and negotiations are continuing with a few interested parties.
