The government cannot be trusted to fund important scientific research that no-one else has the wherewithall to do. According to the poster, it browbeats our top research institutions and scientists into fudging results!

However, the same poster postulates that the same government is to be trusted to run a bank and look after our money. A tax office employee perhaps? (And one who seems not to understand the 'taxpayer guarantee').
