Commenting as a dairy farmer I must warn that dairying in Australia is a very tough industry. $1/litre milk in the supermarkets has all but crippled the industry with many farmers struggling to survive. I reckon the Anatara IPO is a much safer investment. Non antibiotic treatments for animal disease is much sought after and pork is the most consumed meat globally by far. Be wary of claims that productivity will improve as the company achieves economies of scale. They will milk more and more cows and slowly sink further into debt and eventually fold. If a family owned and run operation (as dairies traditionally are), can't survive how will a corporate farm fare paying all the directors and other hangers on? Sorry, don't see it working out, I'm going with Anatara.
