Crossbred cows (usually F1 Brahman X) weighing around 300 kg dead.
    JBS Dinmore paying $4.90 kg.
Scone paying up to $6 kg
Lighter cows going to Throsby at Singleton for $4.90 kg. They are taking them down to 150 kg dead for this price which is a pretty light cow.
Agents around here are making up truckloads from mixed vendors to minimise freight costs.
This is largely result of China's need for protein following the destruction wrecked on their pig herds because of African swine fever.
People around here are spudding their cows and keeping as many heifers as they can economically feed. They will lose a year or two's calf drop but will retain their genetics.
Also provides cash flow. Drought affected cattle aren't worth much.
