It is likely to be worsened by the Greens. They oppose dams being constructed, desalination plants being built and support removing migration controls.
Water scarcity is a social, economic, environmental and national security issue.
A terrorist destroying / polluting a damn or desalination plant in the middle of a large city drought is a potential attack. A soft target for a huge and lasting impact.
I expect a water resource issue in Australia to be national news eventually.
