    The policy wasn't genocidal, if genocide is taken to mean a desire to wipe out the Aboriginal population. For example an Aboriginal cricket team toured England in 1868. If the policy was to wipe out Aborigines they'd have all been shot when departing at the wharf. There were atrocities and massacres to which a blind eye was turned by authorities, but not a policy of genocide. Let alone an ongoing genocide now.
