Ah yes, the same old cliches when the market forces, such as they are, impact negatively on our equity investments, as the equity market is the bulwark of the free enterprise economy, free and open markets we hail and demand. Or do we? Seem to recall at least, during and well beyond two major financial crises (eg GFC and Covid) the free marketeers insisted on instant intervention by Govt with billions of taxpayer dollars to save the world (read our investments).

Well, if your thesis is, "let the market decide" or such, then it must work both directions ie if you let Govt in, then it is impossible to eradicate, until at least the next external financial threat.

The WDS Chairman (Goyder) as the Chairman of QAN during COVID asked for and was bailed out by the then LNP Federal Govt by at least $2.7 Bn nonrefundable grant, that kept QAN solvent and pay the odd multi $Mn bonuses to those QAN executives.

Now we have WDS as an integral part of the corporate elites movement, insinuating the company into Govt and the party politics with its outspoken green woke agenda, with vocal support of the Yes voice campaign and that multi $Mn donation.

So, if you want Govt out of your company business, then insist your company business stays out of Govt and politics.
