Australian military commitment?

Article in todays Australian by Greg Sheridan "ADF’s military incompetence, counter-drone failings exposed"

Reading the full article I am struck by this comment ( in italics below).

"There is one overriding reason we can’t send a ship. None of the 10 operational surface fleet vessels we allegedly have available (seven Anzac frigates currently operational and three air warfare destroyers) has any counter-drone defence capabilities."

Assuming Sheridan is correct then either the DRO product isn't any good and we have been sending it to Ukraine as an empty gesture and the Americans are buying for some other reason or Australia's own military machine is ignoring technology that is designed to save and protect it personnel and equipment? Not sure to be excited about the potential with a change of government or just simply flummoxed with the apparent disregard for simple solutions Australian bureaucracy is demonstrating?
