    Uranium

    Uranium companies, which feed the growing nuclear power sector, could also be targets, sector watchers say. Utility companies are seen as natural buyers in the sector since they can buy the uranium produced and provide funds.

    One banker says Paladin Energy, which mines in Namibia and Malawi and exploration in Australia, could be an opportunity.

    Deutsche Bank mining analyst Paul Young says he does not see a full takeover as likely but that "utilities would be interested in a strategic stake".

    Paladin could not be reached immediately for comment.
