china has an arsenal that they';ve been building for decades with their own tech. how could Aus ever afford to buy sufficient nuke weapons to become a deterrent.

imo deterrence is illusory. such effect requires parity in explosive force. so cost becomes the primary factor in deciding whether to acquire such weapons.

and cost applies equally to nuclear energy. such expensive energy generations would cost too many $billions for our tiny population to absorb.

none of these arguments make sense to me.
