Well spotted Flammo and thanks so much for sharing.
I believe this is related to the A1 Bio Chip development and 100% Archer.
I'm of the opinion Archer will be continuously building their IP portfolio so there will be more coming - so always good to keep an eye on the AusPat site.
Contrary to what some may say, Patents are incredibly important to protecting a companies IP - especially a Technology Company! Apple would not be Apple without the protection of their Patents otherwise companies would copy their technology or products and likely sell at cheaper prices without worrying about any legal implications !
Of course having a patent is not a guarantee of product success, but should you succeed in commercializing your product and indeed during product development it gives legal protection against the technology or product you've patented from being copied and used by others without the permission or consent of the owner once granted.
Anyway - great to see more IP is being submitted for examination and protection.
Also on the topic of Patents and IP and I think someone asked about how the Australian Patent for 12cq was going - The Patent process goes to and fro between the applicant and examiner with amendments until the Patent Examiner is satisfied and able to grant the Patent in that jurisdiction.
Below is the difference between the Summary of novelty, inventive step and patentable subject matter for the Correspondence on the 2nd of November 2021 and correspondence on the 20th of December 2021. An Amendment was submitted on the 23rd of December 2021 and we are awaiting the response back from the examiner if they are satisfied or require further clarification on matters.
You can see Novelty/inventive step is no longer at None - so there has been improvement to satisfy the examiner but still clarification to be addressed which Archer through their Patent lawyers have filed a response and awaiting feedback. Even though the 12cq patents have been granted in other jurisdictions around the world and in much larger patent offices the process is different for each jurisdiction so we just have to be patient and wait for the process to complete.
On another note .... we covered the trademark application process for 12cq, A1 Bio Chip and a mystery DTKTX application last year - below is an update ! DTKTX is Registered and protected - what is it for ??? something to do with a semiconductor device I'm guessing as it's a class 9 but I guess we'll have to wait until the company is ready to announce ??
Further below has the expected acceptance date of 15th May 2022 for A1 Bio Chip Trademark protection.
Making progress here
Cheers
Tonza
