australian politics is deeply flawed

Position Statement

Aussie preference politics is flawed ... vision is thwarted ... mediocrity is the norm ... we dont get the best outcomes ... preferential politics sets the country uo to perform badly and even to fail.

Primary voting is clearly understood ... preferential voting is not.

Preferential voting thwarts the clear unambiguous statement people make when they cast their primary vote.

Preferential politics is "dark pool" ... that Greens oppose coal mining but are happy to preference a billionaire coal miner is but one very leary example.

Absolutley unequivocally preferences led to the circumstance in the 2010 election where a deeply flawed government was able to hang on by a thread to form a deeply flawed and compromised minority government ... one less labor seat won on greens preferences in 2010 would have changed the course of Australian politics.

The incoming Liberal Government faces the prospect of a hostile senate forced upon the nation yet again by preferential voting.

How will the greens, labor and liberals deal with national political issues that for all intents and purposes be controlled by senate positions controled by a billionaire coal miner ... its just too wierd to think about.

Labor and particulalry the greens played with devil and lost.

What real national progress is now possible over the next three years?
