I would recommend making sure your real estate agents and property managers are all up to date on their cybersecurity training. (And your conveyencers, lawyers etc)
Waaaay too many RE offices are run on Win XP aged software, with a daft young property manager doing everything on her personal device, protected by the same password she uses for her shopping and dating app.
Couple this with an ageing population that are susceptible to scams, and very quickly we see how desireable a target that huge amount of data in Real Estate agents is... Bank details, accounts, deposits, identity documents from tenant applications AND buyers... all protected by a paperthin password and not much else... Considering most of you lot wouldn't know what MFA is, let alone how to handle encrypted tranactions, I think you should be very afraid. A lot of cyber-capable young folk just got laid off, and might be looking for a side-gig
