MINING services companies are struggling through the dip in the resources sector, but for Brierty boss Peter McBain the downturn sorts the "wheat from the chaff" and allows his company to operate in its comfort zone -- competing for work.
Another key point in the Perth-based company's strategy is that it isn't just reliant on the resources sector -- it is also involved in civil construction work -- and when one of the industries suffers, the other is usually strong.


Brierty may have had a "chequered" past, but McBain, who was in Sydney on his sixth investor roadshow in 2 1/2 years, says: "We are getting better reception and people are beginning to trust us as an investment."
