Under a takeover bid from cash-laden Zinifex, Allegiance has a nickel province in Tasmania. It is commissioning the small Avebury mine there and talking of a second.

21. Mincor (MCR)

An ASX 200 nickel play with a strong track record of discovery and production growth, now looking around for lead and zinc. It won three hotly contested lead-zinc prospecting licences near Tipperary in the Republic of Ireland, a district whose profile has been lifted by the giant Navan deposit. Also tipped by Lincoln Indicators.
