    the fact that australia has managed/got lucky/is an island with f’ all population density ...
    is precisely why I am happy to sit back and wait for my vaccine whilst I watch the evolution of a) efficacy of the vaccine in dealing with an evolving virus and b) longer term side effects of the virus

    case in point - when first blood clot occurred everyone was quick to point out how rare it was. Then more and more people developed clots... then statistically it didn’t make sense for under 50’s to have AZ vaccine (decision based on conditional probability)

    these are short term term effects.

    if I have the luxury of time (thanks to low chance of catching virus in Australia) why not sit on the sidelines? Seems perfectly rational, albeit maybe selfish, to me

    kicker will be when we need to open our economy to international travel - then I may reevaluate the odds
