viper- about respect -tell me more
Viper, you posted,
Most of all Snooker I love this country so much that i choose to respect my fellow Australians no matter where they came from......
Well said. I too respect everone, not only fellow Australians but even temporary and permanent residents.
That is....until they do something....or do absolutley nothing...................in which case I lose my respect for them.
That does not mean that I will firebomb their houses or abuse them in the street. I simply become indufferent to them until such time as they prove themselves worthy of regaining my respect.
I mentioned earlier .. "or they do absolutley nothing".
That's how I feel about the muted voices of the ethnic moderates we have been discussing. I can fully understand why it would be difficult for the masses overseas to voice their opinions. They would first have their tongues cut out and then shot.
That problem or worry does not exisist here. They know it and tha's one of the reasons they came here whether legally or illegally.
The moderate will get my respect when he opens his/her mouth but not to open it just to whinge about Australians.
I mean to open their collective muted voices, so that we can see they are serious and not mealy-mouthing to us, to keep us pacified and then disclaiming what was said publicly in English with the exact opposite in their mother tongues, in their houses of worship.
I think we expect the full Monty, open and above board.
Is there the expression "above board" in their lexicon?
Remember, it is permissable to lie to Infidels........
