People concerned about our manufacturing jobs have clearly been lapping up the knuckle-dragging economics that politicians of both sides (mostly of the ALP side) have been throwing at them for a while.
For those worried our manufacturing jobs are 'going to China', they are in part correct, but the thing to understand is that China's manufacturing sector is also decreasing, due to a broader industrial revolution that we are right in the middle of. We just don't need as many people to make the 'stuff' that we require to get by.
