All the industries he mentioned except for two are SERVICE industries, not production industries. You cannot build an economy on service industries alone. You need EXPORTS to drive growth and pay down debt and you need foreign investment to provide capital inflows into the wider economy.
Where does he think stuff comes from? Santa ? Sorry to break it to him, but it comes from holes in the ground.
You cannot grow an iPad or a car - they are made from minerals.
