Isn't it ironic that our universities teach many overseas students from Asia as engineers. So where do we look to solve our shortage of engineers, Europe. Why? is it the old anglo saxon twist again. We do not deserve to become the clever country if our government is so stupid. Australian engineers working overseas are doing so for better pay and lifestyle are are not likely to return in a hurry. The pollies should look at the lifestyle in Australia closely. A good start would be lowering the airfares in and out of the country....and interstate. It costs anyone $1000 just to get out of Western Australia so no engineers coming here!!
