Let's face it - in Australia we don't have people like Warren Buffett, George Soros et al that are able to publicly state that they are buying stocks when stocks are cheap.

Perhaps it is timely for the Future Fund to openly state from time to time that they are buying Australian equities as a means of instilling confidence in Australian equities.

With commodity prices high, and the ravenous Asian appetite for Australian equities, there is no doubt that Australian equities provide outstanding value at present. BHP's recent results evidence this.

We know that the US is a basket case - but we also know that Asia is quite strong, and will continue to be strong.

With no one espousing the virtues of Australian equities, our good companies will continue to be sold overseas at ridiculously cheap levels.

C'mon Future Fund - step up and bring some confidence back to our market.
