The SA power grid is now stabilised only because they rely on 9 DIESEL fired gas turbines - which kick in when the big battery takes the frequency drop and will last only a few minutes longer -even these DIESEL fired GTs will not save the grid because they cannot fuel them fast enough to keep them running at full load! So in effect SA still dependant on coal fired generation - only its imported from another State since they had the "wisdom" to demolish their own generation. 50% dependent on renewables doesnt cut it either - that leave you 50% short and in the dark!
