ANNOUNCEMENT: US visit to bring insights to our Australian campaign

Next Friday, I'll be heading to the United States where I'll be visiting multiple nuclear reactors and attending a four day nuclear energy course at MIT.

Our goal is to share the insights from the largest nuclear power country in the world and important lessons for Australia.

Included in the trip will be a visit to Vogtle in Georgia which is home to newest nuclear reactors built in the United States.

Whilst there I'll be looking to speak to the people involved in the US' nuclear success story and share those stories with Australia.

This work will be part of our Facts, Not Politics campaign. We want all Australians to see how beneficial nuclear energy could be to our future.

To help us share the US' nuclear story please support our work today.

Bipartisan support for nuclear, except in Australia

The last fortnight has been a clear demonstration of how out of step the Australian Labor Party's position is on nuclear energy.

Last week Keir Starmer, the leader of UK Labour, was elected Prime Minister. UK Labour were the original proponents for nuclear energy in the UK and continue to strongly support the technology with bipartisan support from the conservatives.

Then, earlier this week, President Biden signed into law the ADVANCE act. The law designed to improve the regulatory conditions and support for the civil nuclear power industry with references to the coal to nuclear transition and microreactors. The act emphasised the bipartisan support for nuclear energy in the US.

Meanwhile in Australia, the Australian Labor Party have been running a fear campaign based on disinformation and the Simpsons.

In addition to the risk this behavior poses to our international relationships and AUKUS, it demonstrates a serious lack of maturity when approaching the energy crisis.

In good news, after this fear campaign was exposed by Nuclear for Australia, there has been reporting in The Australian revealing that the Labor party have warned MPs against engaging in this behavior.

The fear campaign unfortunately still persists and we will continue to keep the pressure up. Facts will defeat the fear.

    Social Media Success

In addition to our extensive education campaign, Nuclear for Australia has a large presence on social media platforms with successful profiles on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Youtube, X and Youtube.

Multiple times per week we share facts, insights from experts and updates in the debate.

Across platforms we have over 40,000 followers with a primarily young audience which is a crucial demographic in the debate.

In addition, our content regularly goes viral with multiple videos on instagram passing 1 million views. This includes a video with close to 2 million views where people where shocked to learn cooling towers release water vapour (not smoke) and nuclear power stations are emissions free.

We will continue growing our presence on social media so we can continue reaching millions of Australians with the facts about nuclear energy.
