Sure! But it has a huge detrimental effect on your borrowing capacity going into the future as your equity has diminished. It is quite an issue for those trying to advance business ideas and need to borrow.
This is why governments worst enemy is deflation as you don't inflate your debt away..

A 10% fall is a big deal IMO.
