That's the way I've always seen it, both 'sides' win and leave the mess on another country's soil - rather than 'soil' their own back yard, what dog sh*t's in it's own bed? It's convenience 'out with the old and in with the new' and everyone pays for it one way or another! Imagine the new technologies we can now pay another 50 years of taxes for.

No war - either just a long grind, or everyone loses interest once they have depleted the old weaponry, and the cycle begins again a 'new arms race' - does it ever stop? NO!
