Yes it is important to understand what exactly happened, but the tech is no where near it yet

Are you willing for your children or loved ones to be one of the shortcomings for the future benefits?
They don't need to get there by experimenting on the roads with our lives.
This is purely about getting something fast tracked to market for profit. They have failed and it has cost a life. There needs to be a consequence for taking this option to develop the tech.
The machine cannot look at the pedestrian in the eye or read their face as part of the decision making process. It just does what the equation says to do.
