    Ok then.

My wife and I (when young) lived in Vancouver for 8 months from August 1970 and did not expect much, if any snow. We were lucky enough though to experience a very snowy winter, late autumn and early spring. Being at sea level and beside the ocean it's usually just rain that precipitates.

In those innocent days no-one thought about a changing earth and atmosphere. However, there were environmental issues that were coming to the fore. One I remember was the proposed damming of a river system in northern Washington - Ross River?? There were many protests. That event alerted us to environmental matters, so we have been environmentalists ever since, but silent ones doing our own thing.

I was so enthused that when we came back to Oz a year later that I became an alderman on the local Council. I initiated a few things that enhanced the environment, and the evidence is still there.
