I don't care for Sconi, its completely irrelevant in the context of Brazil and IAC rare earths. More so, the strategic location of the AUZ tenements vis a vis BRE and what has been identified in preliminary exploration to date.
It is not the same management either. Andrew Nesbitt replaced Benjamin Bell - yet we still have to hear from bitter rusted on holders about the past.
As for Sconi, investors have themselves to blame for not undertaking due diligence. The ASX is littered with examples of juniors with quality projects but an inability to secure the capex. Ultimately, these projects go dormant.
No financial institution will lend to a junior without being able to self-fund 30% of the capex. The risk is simply too high. So where did AUZ investors think AUZ was going to get $292M USD in equity to show potential financiers?
Ultimately, considering the nickel price action, its a positive that it went nowhere.
