What do you expect people to do? Buy a stock they don't like so they 'have skin in the game' and can be considered credible? 

There isn't borrow available to go short.

I recon you'll find a few people who are negative on the company were previous holders but the landscape has changed with commodity prices softening. Any investor should always have an open mind to changing their opinion on an investment, otherwise you are just throwing darts at a board.

Very few stocks in this end of the market ever get to production, and if they do get to production, even fewer ever pay a dividend. You need to be open to selling if you want to make money. Doesn't make you any less credible.
