I don't understand how TrafficGuard works.
Matt used the example of Uber advertising on a webpage and paying the host $1 per click (hypothetical). He said Trafficguard identifies fraudulent clicks on the Uber add and thus saves Uber from paying the host the $1.
I don't understand where the financial incentive is for the BOTs to be trolling through webpages making useless clicks on advertisements. I am assuming the host of the webpage that has the Uber add is honourable / ethical and has not engaged the BOT. Surely Uber's competitors have not paid the BOTS to click on the Uber adds to increase their add expenditure and thus increase their costs.
So how do the BOTs earn their revenue? Where is the incentive for the BOTs to click on Uber's advertisements?
Can someone explain this to me?
