this changes very little for AVA.........the issue is less the cost of material ($800 per km or $880 per km does not seem like a significant hurdle), but rather the uncertainty around trade/trade-wars which will impact their plans around investment for economic growth (or lack of).
The cost of a sensing cable around a wind farm or along a pipeline is irrelevant if the cost of the turbine or steel for the pipes increases by 10-20-30% because it is not built locally
the court case settles nothing, because no business looking to invest millions is going to hang their investment case on a court judgement that may be overturned by the next court and/or trump just uses another tactic to impose these tariffs (or adds uncertainty).
Again, the positive is that this is a global business, and the cost of the fibre is 'small' relative to a lot of what these infrastructure companies are doing, but if it delays all of that investment decision, then it impacts Ava
anyway, they provided guidance after 'liberation day' so hopefully all this noise & uncertainty is baked into their forecast, and then perhaps in the next 12 mths some certainty will return for businesses & investment
