Rental property hits 12-month high

Some good news for renters in Sydney with the number of available rental properties rising to a near 12-month high.

North of Sydney, in Newcastle, however, the number has fallen slightly, while to the south, in Wollongong, the number of available rental properties remains unchanged.

The Real Estate Institute of New South Wales says rates are still historically low, and politicians need to work harder to make renting more affordable.
