As with most things, the devil is in the details. I thought I'd have a read of the most recent analysis I could find of this project, and I include the link below.

It's titled 'Oyu Tolgoi - a world-class copper and gold mine'
from 'Analyst and Investor Mine visit August 25-27, 2015'.

A couple of items I note from it are:

Highly Attractive Project Economics:

Cu grade % 0.85
Au grade g/t 0.32
Ag grade g/t 1.94
Copper recoverable B lb 24.9
Life years 41

Normal C1 cost + sustaining capex, range capped at - 100/lb & 400/lb

As for timlines:
Complete Concentrator Upgrade 2022
Complete Ramp-up 2027

So, in reference to your comments.
I'm not so sure about the 'High Grade' as this states that to be 0.85%.
I can't make out if they are or are not going to be pumping much out before 2027, but I expect to be gone for at least 7 years at that time, by my estimate more like 9 years.
The world is going to need copper long before this comes online, hopefully when we are producing bucket loads of clean concentrate at low cost and the copper price has passed US $3/lb.

Sometimes throwaway comments should be dealt with in just that way.
