I don't think it is controversial at all to suggest that humans over millennia have clearly impacted natural ecosystems.

Though what needs to be recognized is that the greater comfort that we enjoy in a modern advanced civilization can't be obtained/sustained without a degree of natural ecological destruction.

If you are so sanctimonious on this issue, then you shouldn't have bought that technological device that you're typing into.

As I said, I am all for treading lightly on the planet where it is practical to do so.

Anyway, this isn't an appropriate thread for the discussion on anthropogenic environmental impacts.
