You can expect a drop off in flu numbers due to the normal Mexican flu season ending by May. The US will continue a bit longer due to colder weather.
Transmission is believed to end due to higher humidity and sunnier weather (> UV which kill viruses). Even the 1918-1920 flu returned to low levels in Europe by May.
For the southern hemisphere, we are just entering the flu season. For Australia the normal flu season is July to October. So there will be a dip in flu cases during May and June.
Some of the stocks of tamiflu and relenza are being provided to developing countries. They may be provided at a discount.
You can bet that the southern hemisphere flues will be closely monitored to see if tamiflu resistance is transferred to 2009 H1N1.
