ausheds. stop loss is just a subclass of hedging.
on the trading day before the preelection, might as well open a long and a short position on LYC. (with guaranteed stop losses of course). no brainer.
hedging would have made money either way (BN win or lose). better than just going long.
so unless hedging can be proven to reduce risk, stop losses do nothing.
