Look at the 2009 Financial Statements for the answers. Most of it relates to Provision For Onerous Contracts and Inventory Net Realisable Adjustment in Note 2c of almost $150 mm. There was an Industry wide write down of assets and an overproduction of wine and an excess capacity. Looks like an over investment in wine businesses leading into the GFC. From memory it took several years for the Industry to attain a better balance.
