OK let's have a look at one of my other concern about Avita outlook. Their main product, Cell suspension preparation technique and device, is registered under US Patent No. 9029 140 (just look it up please). It's expected to expire in 2022 and they're seeking to extend the patent to April 2024 as a result of the time required for the FDA regulatory process. This doesn't look good as I reckon COVID-19 issue in US is still uncertain and it may take another year or two before they could start going back to the usual business.

On the other hand, the above also mentions Epicel as a direct competitor with RECELL. The product is manufactured by Vericel Inc and if you look at their share price movement in the last 12 months, it's in contrast with Avita.






Both companies market their product in US where COVID-19 has run amok their healthcare system. However, why did Vericel revenue grew significantly more in the midst of COVID-19?
