Great read, sums up our current level of approval.
I had a conversation with a aviation maintenance manager last night. I asked about FAA performance lately, his response was not encouraging. The only approvals going through them right now, are for modifications to existing approvals. Any requests for new technology or previously unapproved products are on back burners until they figure out the 737MAX.
In my opinion, the timeline after IP issue will still be significant(12-24 months).
For all those who constantly expect movement and updates, this is aviation, dinosaurs went extinct faster then the FAA moves.
