instead of forcing anyone to do anything (historically speaking, you don't want to be a citizen in any of those societies) all they have to do is getting rid of free trade agreements. then remove red tape and politics from the free market so business can get off the ground and grow again and banks have somewhere to invest in that isn't the property market
just a little reminder, politician is the only professional career that doesn't require any form of skill or education or proof of intellect. Let's not choose them as our hope to save us.
