    Thanks Lewis.
I had not realised the tiddly little ones and their ilk are responsible for up to 10,000 to 12,000 recycling facility fires a year :/
… “A report from Pragmatic Research, funded by waste and recycling bodies, estimated there are between 10,000 and 12,000 battery-related fires in the sector per year.
The ACT lost its recycling facility to a battery-related fire in 2022.”

Crates full of (stinkingly) dirty tea towels are one of the main culprits behind fires in big commercial laundries.
Obviously the best way to avoid burning the whole facility down is to put those crates somewhere away from anything else - but space is often an issue.
Make sure a dozen crates of filthy tea towels are not all sitting together?

Same thing with big batteries linked to grids?

Maybe part of the work being done in regards building systems integrating li-ion and vanadium BESSes is using the VFBs as insulatory layers so if there *are* fires they are controllable ?

    cheers
