It's easy to think of 'remote' or outback Australia as all NT desert landscape, but just hop on a plane from Melbourne to Townsville and it's almost nothing but trees the whole way.
Given the fire risk of lithium batteries and the 'flammability' of big parts of Australia where remote communities live, they shouldn't even be considered an option in those cases.
Of course most government representatives know they'll be out of office by the time their approved grid lithium batteries might cause the next Ash Wednesday, but at some point the safety risk arguement of lithium batteries vs alternatives has to become a consideration you would think.
