The AVL BFS never quoted a transport cost for diesel. The BFS used quotes from contractors to haul the ore from the mine to Tenindewa as the cost estimate. No doubt this will have risen since then.
The BFS 79 cents per litre diesel cost was for mine diesel, which is not taxed, but also cannot legally be used for transport on public roads. Mine diesel is probably more expensive today as well.
