Do you mean the "last edited by" at the bottom of many of Sabine's posts?
If so, if it's anything like me, I rarely proof read my posts until I actually hit post, and then read only to see a bunch of spelling mistakes or wrong words and have to hit edit quickly to try fixing as much of it up as possible..
You only get 5 minutes to hit edit and reply again, then your careless spelling becomes a matter of public record...
At least, that is why 90% of my posts are edited.
5 minute limit also means you aren't changing your tune or getting to change much at all of what you originally posted.
If by "modified" you mean something else though, i'll let Sabine explain and this can be ignored.
