This is the first of two Gecamine deals - I'd imagine the second one will be announced before the end of the year.
A muted response from the market but no doubt a couple of the analysts including Wilsons & Haywoods will be out with updates to their recommendations in a day or two - it sometimes takes a week or so for the market to become aware of the 'news' and for momentum to start building.
Meanwhile copper price sprints to $1.45/lb and LME warehouse stocks fall by another 1,450t to 63,875t yesterday.
There'll be lots of questions to be asked about this new deal at the upcoming shareholder presentations - I'll try to find out tomorrow if dates have yet been set.
