Axiom Mining, the small Australian company competing with Japanese firm Sumitomo to develop a nickel project in Solomon Islands, is ramping up operations on San Jorge island in Isabel province.
The move comes after a Court of Appeal ruling two weeks ago stripped Axiom and its landowner partners of their prospecting licence at the disputed Kolosori mining tenement next door.
Axiom Mining CEO Ryan Mount says the company has had renewed commitment from its partners since the court decision.
