Summary of the AFR article:
A corporation hired a lobbyist to aid it in negotiating with a government.
In the process of doing so, the corporation's board consulted their legal advisors.
Corporate risk management guidance indicated that the lobbyist lives and works in a country where corruption is rife so there is a possibility of him having encountered some.
The corporation adopted some guidelines around bribery and corruption.
The lobbyist is to be paid for his services, but his fee was a bit rich, so they reduced it.
Wow, earth shattering stuff. Sounds like the boardroom activity of every company that has dealings with governments.
interestingly AFR just lost a defamation case for writing an article that was "awash with innuendo"...
