AVZ is subject to the same forces impacting other Li stocks. By way of example, here is AVZ's SP correlation with a share I picked at random (LTR). The R squared value for the line of best fit is 0.17, and for a straight persons, its 0.41. Both high correlations given the huge number of variables at play.
So, historically, 17% of the variation in AVZ and LTR was due to external factors, such as Li prices, Dow Jones, foreign exchange, etc, etc. Yes, this is a gross simplification, but still above the standard of what's being served up for mathematical analysis here. And no, I cant be bothered doing multiple non-linear regression analysis. So make do with this, or do your own.
Visually, the scatterplot is a bit misleading, because the low pool of unique values (due to low share price) means many data points sit on top of each other.
So the below chart might have more visual appeal. But its the R2 value that counts.
